OUR PURPOSE
What is the Christian Life supposed to look like?
How The Early Christians Lived
Before He returned to heaven, Jesus made a promise to His followers: 'You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses,' even unto the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This promise was fulfilled on Pentecost. Jesus’ disciples were all together when, suddenly, a sound like the rush of a mighty wind came from heaven, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). Their lives were transformed when they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ followers began living as a united community, sharing everything and meeting each other’s needs. They worshiped daily, shared meals with joy, praised God, and earned favor with everyone. God gave them new life, making them a visible and united family of believers, and using their life together to witness to the power of His son, Jesus. And the Lord added to their number those who were being saved (Acts 2:44-47).
Contemporary Society
Few people today experience the power, purpose, growth, and deep relationships that defined the lives of early Christians. Many struggle to build lasting relationships, lack a clear mission, and feel unsupported in living a life devoted to Jesus Christ. Modern life is marked by stress, anxiety, loneliness, and a sense of aimlessness.
Renewal
But the Lord is still working, pouring out His Holy Spirit, renewing His people, and making possible the abundant life He promised. He is seeking disciples to proclaim His Gospel and give their lives for His kingdom. Through the Holy Spirit’s renewal, men and women can experience God personally, gaining power to dedicate themselves to Him, live for His glory, and love one another as Jesus commanded (John 13:34). This renewal also fosters Christian community, creating a place where God’s people can share their lives in love, form a spiritual family, live for Christ, experience His abundant life, and proclaim His Gospel.
We are trying to build this sort of renewal community.
We seek to be a community marked by deep relationships, founded on stable, often lifelong, commitments to one another, to the Lord, and to living a common Christian way of life.
We have an intentional set of agreements that encourages everyday discipleship. We want to have practical ways to honor and worship the Lord, love one another, and serve those around us.
We seek to make ourselves available to the Lord and, as a community, to be on mission together. We want to proclaim the Good News of Jesus, build a community that supports Christian discipleship, and foster the good in our local environments. Our work and community are not meant just for ourselves but as a support for our churches, families, neighbors, and friends.
We have a common, charismatic spirituality. We want to be renewed and to invite others to be renewed in the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that all Christians can yield more fully to the Holy Spirit, know God personally, and experience Him guiding, teaching, and giving them power to live for and worship Him.
We are a community of disciples, on mission.
